How Our Pricing Works

Our prices are based on time, and they assume a vehicle in the condition a maintained daily driver is normally in.

Additional work is quoted before I start, and nothing is added to your total without your approval.

The goal is to bring every vehicle I touch to one standard and then keep it there. That standard does not change between the first detail and the tenth.

  • Every two weeks, monthly, or a cadence you pick.

How I Work

Most Scratches Happen During the Wash.

Most of the Dirt Never Gets Touched

I pressure rinse first, then cover the car in foam and let it sit. The grit lifts and rinses off before a mitt ever gets near the paint.

Two Buckets and a Grit Guard

After every section the mitt gets rinsed against a grit guard, so dirt drops to the bottom of the bucket instead of going back on your car. Lower panels get their own mitt. A mitt that hits the ground is done for the day.

Wheels Get Their Own Everything

Wheels are the filthiest part of a vehicle, so they go first with brushes and towels that never touch paint. Brake dust does not end up on a panel later.

Dried Without Dragging

Water gets blown out of the mirrors, grille, and jambs first. Then the towel is laid flat and pulled, not scrubbed around. Dragging a loaded towel is where most drying scratches come from.

About Ethan

I’m Ethan, the founder of Big Dawg Auto Detail. I’m based in McKinney, and I’m your point of contact for the quote, appointment and the work your vehicle needs.

I’m an Army veteran. I started Big Dawg in Granbury, Texas in 2023 and brought the business with me to McKinney. The photos here show vehicles I’ve worked on.

I’d rather do a few cars properly than a lot of them fast.

Car Care

Between details

Bird droppings, bugs and sap

These can damage the finish if left sitting. Clean the affected area promptly with a product suitable for your paint. Soften stuck-on residue rather than scraping or scrubbing it off.

Dust needs a wash

Dragging a dry towel over dusty paint can leave scratches. Wash away the dirt before drying with a clean, soft towel.

Avoid water spots

Sprinklers and wash water can leave deposits as they dry. Keep the car out of sprinkler spray, and dry it after washing instead of letting the water evaporate.

Match the cleaner to the surface

Use car shampoo on paint, not dish soap. Interior screens, leather and fabric need products suited to those materials. Follow the product directions and your vehicle's care guide.

Catch spills early

Blot liquid with a clean cloth and lift loose debris before cleaning. Use a product suitable for the upholstery, and avoid soaking the seat or carpet.

Let fabrics dry

Let cleaned fabric and floor mats dry fully before putting mats back. Drying time depends on the weather and airflow. Refit dry mats securely before driving.

FAQ

What do I need to provide?
A water spigot, an outlet, and a safe, flat spot to work. I bring everything else. Gates, apartments, HOA rules — mention them in the quote form.
What if the weather turns?
If the weather won't let me do the job right, I text you and lock in a new day. No penalty.
Do I need to empty the vehicle?
Yes. Pull out valuables, paperwork, and loose items. The Interior Detail is built for an empty cabin, cargo area included.
Do you clean child car seats?
Yes, and there is no charge for it. Child seats get vacuumed out and the hard plastic wiped down with water as part of any interior. I do not put chemicals on harness straps, buckles or LATCH webbing, and I do not remove or reinstall the seat — those come out and go back in by you. If the fabric is heavily stained, that falls under heavy staining.
How is pet hair handled?
Normal shedding is part of a standard interior and costs nothing extra. Heavy hair takes significantly longer and is quoted separately. Tell me up front so it is in the total I text you instead of a surprise later. Hair ground deep into the carpet is shampoo territory and quoted separately.
Can I combine discounts?
Discounts apply to Full Details, with one discount per job.
Do you take a deposit?
Not for standard jobs. Large commercial bookings might — I'll tell you before you book. Reschedule and cancellation terms come with your quote.
I rent, or I have an HOA. Can you come?
Yes, as long as the property allows mobile detailing. Check your HOA or lease rules and mention them in the quote form.
What if the condition is worse than described?
I look the vehicle over when I arrive. If it's rougher than described, I show you and agree on the price before any work starts. Nothing gets added without your ok.
What about cancellations?
Your quote comes with the reschedule and cancellation terms. If something at the site keeps me from doing the job right, I reschedule or cancel at no charge.
